Sophie Turner was photographed kissing her co-star Frank Dillane while filming a scene for their new show, Joan, in Spain. The two were seen frolicking on the beach and splashing around in the water while the camera crew filmed them.
Turner, 27, was spotted kissing Dillane amid her divorce from Joe Jonas. The two were married in Las Vegas in May 2019 and held a second ceremony in France in June 2019. Turner legally changed her last name to Jonas.
In photographs obtained by CA18, the English actress was captured in the action on the set of her upcoming ITVX series Joan alongside costar Frank Dillane. The pair were even pictured kissing while filming a scene.
Turner, 27, and Dillane, 32, were also photographed frolicking in the ocean and smiling from ear to ear while filming the beachy scene in Spain.
Joan is set to feature Turner depicting real-life figure Joan Hannington through her journey from housewife to criminal mastermind in 1980s London. Dillane appears as Joan’s husband while Gershwyn Eustache Jr., Kirsty J. Curtis as Nancy, Laura Aikman, Alex Blake, Harry Pittard and Lankesh also round out the cast.
The series has already garnered awards season buzz, especially for Turner, who underwent a stunning transformation for the titular role.
“That is going to be awards bait, that show,” The CW’s entertainment chief Brad Schwartz recently said on The Hollywood Reporter’s TV’s Top 5 podcast, per TVLine. “The dailies look amazing, Sophie Turner is phenomenal. … I’m really, really excited about that one.”
Turner returned to set days after Jonas, 34, filed for divorce on Sept. 5 after four years of marriage. The former couple, who wed in 2019, share two children together.
Addressing the divorce for the first time, Turner and Jonas said in a joint statement that they “have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.”
“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” their statement concluded.
In the days leading up to Jonas’ divorce filing, Turner was in “high spirits” while out enjoying herself at a wrap party for the Birmingham portion of filming Joan.
“She was really down to earth,” bar manager Hezron Stephenson told PEOPLE of the Game of Thrones actress, who “just felt very comfortable” and “seemed very happy” while celebrating with her colleagues.
The bar manager added that Turner was “really chill” and “sweet.” At one point, the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star even “pulled her card out and paid for a round of shots.”
