This Saturday afternoon, the Argentina U-20 team lost in its debut in the South American tournament against Paraguay 2-1, with goals from Gilberto Flores and Allan Wlk for those led by Pedro Sarabia, while Máximo Perrone scored for the “Albiceleste”.
Without much action during the first half, Flores’ goal came after a defensive error at the start. The defender took the ball a little beyond the half of the field in the left sector and, approaching the area, shot a few steps from the croissant. That shot went into the hands of Federico Gomes Gerth, but the ball slipped from him and ended up entering the goal.
However, three minutes later, after some good play by Santiago Castro down the left flank, Perrone received the cross and scored the equalizer under the empty goal. With the match one by one the selected ones went to rest.
Beginning the complement, in minute 54, after a few arrivals, Lautaro Di Lollo touched the ball with his hand in the area and caused a penalty for the Paraguayan team. Wlk was in charge of kicking from the eleven steps and, by directing the ball to the lower left corner of the goalkeeper, he put the final 2 to 1.
With this result, the team led by Javier Mascherano began the South American U-20 tournament with a defeat in group A, which they also share with Peru, Colombia and Brazil.
