As for this last point, for about a year the competent authorities have announced the systematic withdrawal of the driving license in the event of speeding, which they have replaced by a new system of sanctions based on fines.

It is in this sense that the deputy of the wilaya of Djelfa Ahmed Rebhi published a reminder on the fines and the sanctions envisaged against the drivers exceeding the speed limits authorized by the executive decree 04-381 and this for the different types of vehicles, on his Facebook account today, Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Exceeding the speed limit by less than 10% is considered a second degree violation. And so in this case that the road safety services write a report bearing a fine of 2,500 Algerian dinars to be paid within ten days without impairment of the ability to drive and with recovery of the driving license, once the fine has been paid .

In addition, if the driver exceeds the regulatory speed by 10 to 20%, this contravention is classified as the third degree of contravention of this type. In this case, the fine is set at 3,000 DA to be paid within ten days without impairment of the ability to drive and with recovery of the driving license.

What are the penalties and fines for drivers exceeding speed limits by more than 20%?

In addition, in the event that the violation of the speed limit is between 20 and 30%, the fine reaches the minimum amount of 5,000 Algerian dinars, which the offender must pay within 10 days without impairment of the ability to drive. and with license recovery.

To conclude, the same source specifies that if the driver exceeds the speed limit by 30%, it is an offense which involves legal proceedings by the territorially competent services. And in this case, the fine is set between 10,000 and 50,000 DA with withdrawal of the driving license by the territorially competent public prosecutor.
