At the Berlin memorial to the murdered Jews of Europe, a man is said to have spat on a child, hit an old man and insulted a young woman in an anti-Semitic manner. The suspect then fled undetected, the police said on Saturday.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The police were alerted because a pedestrian suddenly spat on a five-year-old child.
The stranger initially went in the direction of the Brandenburg Gate, but returned shortly afterwards. Now he is said to have hit an 80-year-old tourist on the back of the head with his flat hand and insulted a 19-year-old in an anti-Semitic manner.
The suspect fled in the direction of the Tiergarten and was not found during a search, the police said. Now the state security is investigating because of bodily harm and insult.
