On Tuesday, April 18, the Seventh Committee of the House of Representatives will debate for the first time the health reform. The Government hopes to be able to count on the support of various political sectors; However, there are more concerns that arise every day regarding the project and in a last attempt to adjust the text before the presentation they went to the director of the Partido de la U, Dilian Francisca Toro.
The health reform is, without a doubt, one of the proposals most questioned by the government of Gustavo Petro. The Minister of Health, Carolina Corkhas insisted that this project is necessary and the head of state has ratified his support for this project; however, this does not finish convincing some political sectors that ask for some modifications, or they will not vote in favor of it.
According to information published by Blue Radio, a few days ago, the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, reportedly approached the director of the Partido de la U with the aim of wrap text and that this may receive the support of some of the communities that are not entirely convinced.
The medium in question revealed that on Saturday, April 15, the Ministry, the political parties and the speaker coordinators were working together with technicians to create a new document that would have 88 proposals from the party of the u and of the Conservative Party. These must be endorsed by the National Government so that it can be endorsed when it is discussed in the Congress of the Republic.
It is important to point out that, during the weekend prior to the debate on the health reform in the Seventh Committee of the House of Representatives, which was to take place on Thursday the 13th – but was postponed to Tuesday the 18th by the president of the Commission, Agmeth Escaf–, several points from different political sectors were reviewed. The represent martha alfonso of the Green Alliance, who is the coordinator of the presentation, stressed that not only the proposals of the U Party and the Conservatives were studied, but also another 500 from other parliamentarians.
In a statement published by Blu Radio, the parliamentarian, Martha Alfonso, pointed out that this will be “A decision as a team of rapporteurs is that we are going to present an amendment tomorrow that collect match points, but also multiple observations from other congressmen.”
However, the caveat regarding the text is that not all propositions may be taken into account or added to the text that will be presented at the House of Representatives Because this is a negotiation and some of these proposals have already been accepted by 48% and those that were refused is because they were already in the text with a different wording.
A few days ago Dilian Francisca Toro, in an interview with Time, He referred to the situation of some of the political parties regarding the health reform and pointed out that, “The propositions, basically, are to be able to introduce into the presentation what we had agreed with the President”
And with respect to the proposals that they presented to the Minister of the Interior Alfonso Prada, the director of the Partido de la U pointed out that, “what we do is the proposals, basically, it is what we had agreed with the President, but that was not consigned in the presentation. That is, what was not written in the paper, we are putting it into propositions. There are many propositions, but there are five or six issues which we want to modify. The proposals, basically, are to manage to introduce in the presentation what we had agreed with the President”.
