Tottenham Hotspur would have to pay a hefty severance payment to FC Bayern for the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann as the new head coach. As the ‘Telegraph’ reports, around eleven million euros would be due to buy Nagelsmann out of his contract in Munich, which runs until 2026. The 35-year-old is still Spurs club boss Daniel Levy’s favorite coaching solution.
Since the resignation of sports director Fabio Paratici, Levy has personally led the search for a new coach. Negotiations with Nagelsmann are in full swing, but there are other coaches in the running. Luis Enrique (without a club), Arne Slot (Feyenoord Rotterdam and Ange Postecoglou (Celtic Glasgow) are among the other candidates. Tottenham are currently sixth in the Premier League and would miss international business as things stand.
