Same layout, same uniforms, same concept: the first images of reality TV are there.
So this is the multiverse? Daring but true: the macabre game of Squid Game arrives in 2023 in the real world. After the global success of the South Korean series, Netflix announced in June 2022 a reality show inspired by the screenplay by Hwang Dong-hyeok. A year later, the platform returns to give news of this project entitled Squid Game : The Challenge.
The first images broadcast last Saturday confirm it: the game will be exactly the same as in the fiction (apart from the blood and the assassination of the participants, of course). For the rest, the program takes the concept of the series to the letter: 456 players who compete for 4.56 million dollars.
Scary music, green uniforms for the players, red jumpsuits for the goalkeepers, the same sets down to the smallest detail… It’s almost like watching the teaser for season 2.
In this regard, the same day, the platform also unveiled “the new faces” that will appear in the sequel to the series expected for 2024. (Attention, here we are talking about the real actors, finally the fake participants). It’s to get lost between reality and fiction.
Squid Game : The Challenge will have ten episodes and will be available in November 2023 on Netflix.
