The Ministry of Foreign Relations (SRE) stated that the administration of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is following closely and wishes the Guatemalan people the greatest success in the elections, according to a message published on social networks.
“The government of Mexico will continue to build a bilateral relationship with the new government of Guatemala based on respect and cooperation, for the well-being and progress of our peoples and of Latin America,” added the foreign ministry.
Tomorrow the second round of the presidential elections will be held, in which the candidates Bernardo Arévalo, from the social democrat Movimiento Semilla, and Sandra Torres, from the National Unity of Hope party, are running.
