A stabbing-turned-shooting left a man dead in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Tuesday night, according to police.
The police department said a “substantial” stabbing and shooting in the 500 block of Brooks Street occurred around 6:30 p.m.
One man stabbed another, who then pulled out a gun and fired back at him, police said.
The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. The person who was stabbed was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Detectives are actively investigating. No additional information was immediately available.
