Starfield’s release date isn’t set yet, but the open-world game might get another internal delay. A new rumor has just ignited the Web.
This is Microsoft’s big exclusive this year. Starfield is one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and for good reason. Whoever wants to be more than a Skyrim in space would have received first rave reviews from the first testers. The Redmond firm wanted to reassure the general public, Bethesda’s most ambitious game will not be released well in the next six months… or not.
Starfield release date pushed back?
Starfield could miss its landing in the first half of 2023. Postponed several times, the big cartridge from Bethesda would still be waiting for several months. However, its release would be even further away than expected. According to Youtuber MrMattyPlays, known for his proven leaks around Bethesda productions, the open world game could miss its new launch window. Should we expect a big delay and a possible exit from Starfield at the start of the school year? Not according to leaker.
“Starfield would still arrive this summer but it is possible that it will be pushed back beyond the first half of 2023,” he explained in the latest episode of the Defining Duke podcast. In other words, the Xbox exclusive could finally be released in July or August. The youtubeur invoked a reliable source, which has never given him false information in the past and which is undoubtedly the one which had allowed him to announce the postponement of Redfall before everyone else.
The absence of Starfield at the Xbox Developer Direct seems in any case to go in this direction. As a reminder, the publisher will hold a showcase aimed at highlighting its future releases including Forza Mortorsport, Minecraft Legends or Redfall. No Starfield on the horizon therefore, even if the editor invoked his desire to dedicate a big presentation to him which would not yet be ready. Case to follow.
