In exactly one week and one day, the starting shot goes for the Telialigaen in Counter-Strike. A lot has happened since Apeks Rebels lifted the trophy at SpillExpo this fall and the aforementioned Apeks Rebels and Center Gaming are the only teams that have not made changes since last season.

True to tradition, in a daily series of articles Gamer.no will attempt to predict and provide insight into the individual teams before it all breaks loose on Monday 30 January. It can mean a lot of misses, but maybe also some hits.

Jotunheimen is first out in our article series, which means that the team is predicted in 10th place.

THESE PLAY FOR JOTUNHEIMEN

The build-up to the season has been anything but ideal for Jotunheimen, which previously went under SKADE X. The club never agreed on a new contract with the players, who chose to leave the organisation. The project was thus shelved, at least for the time being, and renamed Jotunheimen.

Jotunheimen has brought in players with experience from the Telialiga’s top division. Their Jonathan “zame” Nyhagen also has experience from the playoffs. Although there will probably be no play-offs this season, Nyhagen has four teams he predicts will be at the top.

– I would say it is evenly between the 777 and Apeks Rebels. I think it’s probably between the two teams, I also think Metizport and VOID will be at the top with them.

Big brother “zerk” is also with Jotunheimen.

We have asked the teams to nominate a player from another team who they think will stand out during the season. Nyhagen believes Morten “zEVES” Vollan will flourish in his comeback as an active player this spring.

– I think “zEVES” is making strides as a player and not least on an individual level this season.

Jotunheimen will have a tough opening against Vollan and Metizport in the first round. Nyhagen is still most looking forward to meeting the reigning series champion and Bitfix.

– I’m most looking forward to meeting Apeks Rebels or Bitfix actually. It’s always fun to play against old teammates and organizations you’ve played for before, says Nyhagen.

Tough season ahead

We at Gamer.no predict that Jotunheimen will finish last and move directly down from the Telialiga this spring.

– What do you think about this prediction?

– I think it’s completely fair, but of course we hope and believe that this can be disproved, concludes Nyhagen.

Why do we predict Jotunheimen in 10th place?

The editors believe that Jotunheimen is drawing the shortest straw when the points are to be counted up after the spring season and move directly down. After the chaos surrounding the contracts for SKADE X, the team has now become Jotunheimen, and seems to have been put together in a hurry. Unfortunately, that does not speak in favor of Jotunheimen. There are four teams that stand out at the bottom and the key for Jotunheimen will be to pick up points against the other relegation candidates.

Gamer.no’s table so far:

2.
3.

8.
9.
10. Jotunheimen
