Starting today, all weekend long, you can try out three great games for free, including one of the latest critically acclaimed Marvel adaptations.
The good plans are linked for PC players. Between the Epic Games Store gifts, the 7 free Steam games and or even a title offered on GOG, it’s a treat. The Valve store continues its momentum by announcing a new operation to test several productions free of charge. An initiative that will last a few days, leaving enough time for the most curious to get an idea of the three lucky ones selected.
Three games playable for free on Steam
The Fanatical platform offers users to grab 7 free Steam games of a very popular license from the 90s for a few more days. It is now the turn of the Valve store to launch its own commercial operation to keep players busy for a weekend. From February 16 to 20, with the exception of a single title, three games can be tested for free on Steam. In the lot, one of the big surprises of last year, an RTS of a cult franchise and an excellent independent title. The only requirement? Have an account on the platform and a PC capable of running the games in question. What exactly are they? Here is the list and their date of availability:
- Marvel’s Midnight Suns (February 16-19, 2023): This was one of the big surprises of 2022. When Marvel meets XCOM, it’s Midnight Suns. A strategy game that relies on a brilliant deck system, exhilarating fights and well-balanced fanservice.
- Book of Demons (from February 16 to 20, 2023): a small independent game but no less equally appreciated with more than 8000 very positive reviews on Steam. Devilishly fun pure and hard hack & slash that invites you to slay the armies of darkness in the dungeons under the Old Cathedral.
- Age of Empires IV (February 16-20, 2023): Final installment of one of the most beloved real-time strategy games. Fight devious battles across 4 campaigns with 35 missions spanning 500 years of history.
To test these three games for free, simply go to their respective Steam pages. Above the insert allowing you to buy them is a green box with the mention “Play the game”. One click on it and one download later and the free trial is yours. As often, there are no restrictions in terms of content. You will have access to the entire base game of each of the titles during the given period.
The opportunity to get a concrete idea about them, in particular Marvel’s Midnight Suns which was a real critical success which was not reflected in sales. All the games in the selection also benefit from promotions on Steam during this operation. The Marvel adaptation, for example, goes to €35.99 instead of €59.99 (-40%), even though the DLC dedicated to Venom is just announced. Age of Empires 4 is offered at €23.99 (-40%), while the independent game Book of Demons can be obtained for only €4.59 (-80%).
