Everyone’s favorite digital PC game store is certainly not resting on their laurels and after a few years of offering money backs on games to disgruntled customers, they are now taking the idea one step further. Namely, Steam will start allowing players to try for up to 90 minutes completely free, a concept that is now being tested with Dead Space Remake before it (hopefully) begins to be rolled out on a wider front.

Presumably, this will not only reduce the burden on their customer service but also eliminate the risk of abuse of the system. In the past, many smaller developers have pointed out how some buyers, after rushing through the game in less than two hours, then requested their money back. A behavior that this new system of 90 free minutes should be able to remedy. The test with Dead Space Remake continues until the 29th of May.

Do you think this is a better system than being able to claim your money back after two hours?

Taste some space horror for 90 minutes.
