Steven Yeun spoiled the ending of The Last of Us to Pedro Pascal

The actor played the game on the set of The Walking Dead and revealed the final scene to whoever lends his features to Joel.

Steven Yeun et Peter Pascal have one thing in common: that of having been involved respectively in an apocalyptic series full of zombies. One was a few years ago Glenn in The Walking Deadthe other is now Joel in The Last of Us. It’s no wonder, then, that the two actors were reunited during the “Actors on Actors” interview of Variety. And during their discussion, Steven Yeun shared with the actor The Last of Us his video game experience Neil Druckman – which is obviously close to his heart – while filming at the time The Walking Dead. Yeun raved about the ending sequence, which he says is extremely similar to the show’s sequence – when Joel lies to Ellie about what happened in the hospital – in addition to being endowed with a certain poetry. Scene which he described to a Peter Pascal rather surprised, he having never played the game even to prepare for the role.

“I can’t remember exactly which season of The Walking Dead I was working on, but the game had just come out and I can see myself playing it for 12 hours straight, until that last scene… where you just have to move the two characters as they experience this final, beautiful scene together. Nothing happens. They just walk in the forest. I remember finishing it and then arriving on set the next day and being catatonic because I had just experienced something special,” said Yeun.

Never having played the game itself, Pedro PostHe was quite amazed: “Really ? You told me more about the video game than the creator himself! It’s awesome. So you’re telling me that at some point you still control the characters but you’re not fighting anything anymore, you’re not looking for anything… It’s very cool.”
