The pitch is relatively simple: champion of stinginess, god of saving pennies, François Gautier (Dany Boon) sees his existence as a sickly petty little petty animal turned upside down by the sudden appearance of his post-teenage daughter (Noémie Schmidt, revealed in “L’Etudiante et Monsieur Henri”, with Claude Brasseur, in 2015) at the origin of his involuntary conception: an expired condom that he had not resigned himself to throwing away… At the same time, this pathetic Gautier crosses paths with a pretty violinist. A love at first sight which inevitably leads to unforeseen expenses for the fanatic.

What we can expect from it: a real good “Boonian” number which reconnects more with the neurotic vein of its first shows on stage (in ” I’m fine, everything is fine ! ») and de facto departs from a register of neo-Bourvillian cinema (“Nothing to declare”, “Welcome to the Ch’tis”) which is certainly lucrative, but ultimately much less pleasing. His female partner, the sculptural and crazy Laurence Arné (the “WorkinGirls” series, on Canal+) in the role of the fiancée, is up to the comic challenge. On the staging side, the rhythm and the punch are provided by the director Fred Cavayé, who had hitherto distinguished himself in action cinema (“For her”, “At close range”). In a word, the viewer, whether stingy or not, gets his money’s worth.
