Region Gotland announced this in a press release on Monday afternoon.
– We have a strained care facility situation where the number of patients in need of inpatient care in periods risks exceeding current care facility resources. We will always receive acutely ill patients, but planned activities may be postponed if necessary. Patients from other regions are moved as soon as possible to the home region, says Director of Health and Medical Services Marie Loob.
Strained situation
Even within the social administration, the situation is strained and the short-term accommodation is full.
– Therefore, I have now taken the decision to lift the intake freeze at Attendo’s accommodation at Terra Nova in Visby. As soon as possible, we can now use three apartments that are empty as temporary short-term places, says social director Marica Gardell.
