Ministerial visit to Oberhausen: Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU), NRW Minister for Labor and Social Affairs, visits the city on May 22nd. Together with Lord Mayor Daniel Schranz, the 65-year-old opens the labor market conference in the center of Altenberg.
The issues are very urgent for Oberhausen: shortage of skilled workers and combating long-term unemployment. Under the title “Job miracle in the Ruhr area? The aim of the conference, as the city explains in a press release, is not only to network the players relevant to the labor market, but also to develop a key issues paper on the Oberhausen labor market.

“The number of employees subject to social security contributions has developed very well in Oberhausen. In the summer of 2022, the 70,000 mark was broken for the first time in decades,” says Mayor Schranz (CDU). “A small ‘job miracle’.” The city wants to build on that.
