The CIDE student community went on a 24-hour strike this May 2 of 2023, responding to the call launched a few days ago against the so-called Science Law, which ended up being approved in a get up early in the Senate, on April 28 and 29.

“On the one hand, it militarizes science, withdraws autonomy in the administration of scientific work in the country, violates the budget assigned to science and puts scientific freedom at stake. On the other hand, it has been promoted through an irregular and not very transparent process”.

The decision of the CIDE students is also in the context of the movements that have emerged in universities such as the UAM (where the students rose up against gender violence), the UNAM (which demands transparency in the resources of the Rectory) and the Ibero (whose students also demand transparency in the management of resources) and now, the protest against the Science Law, which is a nationwide responseabout a general problem.
