Dornbirn. The U16 team from Dornbirn’s Admira started the spring round of the championship the week before with a commanding 4-0 away win in Hörbranz. Last Saturday, the first home game of the new year was played at the sports facility in Rohrbach against the same age group from FC Lustenau.

More game shares for Admirans

With pleasant temperatures, the Admirans struggled in the first few minutes and only after a system change did the home side find their way into the game better. The Admira youngsters pressed and in the 24th minute the ball landed in the Lustenau goal after an own goal. But in direct return, the stickers were able to make up for their mistake and scored to equalize 1:1. As a result, the Rohrbächler were able to claim more game shares for themselves and Noah Stocker and Nico Österle scored before the break for Admira’s 3:1 lead.

Opportunities for both teams

In the second half, Dornbirn made life difficult for themselves and received two blue cards within two minutes. The Lustenauer took advantage of this superiority and shortened to 2:3. After the time penalties had expired, however, the Admirans were again the game-determining team and in the 61st minute Noah Stocker restored the two-goal lead. Lustenau remained dangerous and both teams kept finding good opportunities. However, Luca Gutschi and Simon Benzer ensured the decision in favor of the Admirans in the closing stages. Lustenau were also successful again in the last minute of the game, but in the end this didn’t change anything about Admira’s 7:4 home win. For the Rohrbächler, the championship continues next weekend with the city derby against the Rothosen on the Hatlerdorf sports field. MIMA
