Mexico City.- A woman sued a cruise ship because her husband died of a heart attack on the voyage and the employees kept the body in the freezer.

When the family found out about the facts, they decided to sue the company identified as “Celebrity Cruises”.

The woman alleges that the company that owns the cruise improperly handled the body of the subject Robert Jones, who died on August 15, 2022.

And it is that the ship’s employees argued that the body began to decompose, generating emotional trauma to his companions.

“What promised to be a dream trip ended in tragedy for the Jones family. Robert suffered a heart attack that caused his death,” the tourism company reported.

Who sued is Marilyn, a 78-year-old woman, wife of Robert, grandmother and mother of two daughters. She is now a widow and is seeking compensation of one million dollars.

The lawsuit was filed in Florida, United States.

And it is that the woman argues that the administrators of the cruise promised that the body would be stored in a morgue inside the transport.

However, they made the determination to keep the body in a beverage cooler for a week.

In the lawsuit that was exhibited by the media, it is specified that when Jones died, the cruise ship staff gave two options: lower the body in Puerto Rico or store it.

Marilyn chose to have her husband stay on the ship until it reached its final destination in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the journey took six days.

The company “Celebrity Cruises” did not issue a statement. In fact, he only cited the case on social networks and asked for “respect for the family.”

The cruise ship where Robert Jones died has a capacity for 3,000 passengers and 1,200 crew members.
