Liverpool FC is currently eleven points behind a Champions League rank, hardly any player is in normal form. In the summer, the Reds want to completely renew themselves. Now the ‘Mirror’ presents a list of ten players whose days are numbered at Anfield at the end of the season.
Four free transfers
The midfield trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (29), James Milner (37) and Naby Keïta (27) will be out of contract in six months. While Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keïta no longer have any prospects, the veteran Milner is about to end his career. RB Leipzig recently showed interest in Keïta, from where the Guinean came to Liverpool in 2018.
It could also be tight for striker Roberto Firmino. The 31-year-old’s contract is also expiring, and talks about an extension have not yet taken place. A departure in the summer can no longer be ruled out.
It is also said that midfield star Fabinho (29) and ex-Schalke player Joel Matip (31) would not stand in the way of a suitable offer. The two top performers of the past few years are currently in a real form low and are no longer indispensable. The former was recently pushed onto the bench by youngster Stefan Bajcetic (18).
In addition, central defender Nathaniel Phillips (25) and the two reserve keepers Caomhin Kelleher (24) and Adrián (34) are to leave the club. Phillips was already a farewell candidate in the past winter transfer window but had to stay on board due to the injury to Ibrahima Konaté (23).
