Suspect sexually assaults two people in their sleep: police

Police have arrested a man suspected of breaking into the bedroom of an East Hartford, Connecticut home while people were sleeping and touching one victim, then forcing another to touch him, police said.

Police said Tyonne Pierce, 31, of East Hartford, entered a Whitney Street home through a first-floor bedroom window Friday while two victims were sleeping in the bed.

A victim awoke to being sexually touched by Pierce, police said.

Pierce then forced the second victim to touch him, police said.

One victim got into a fight with Pierce, allowing the other to leave the bedroom.

After a struggle, Pierce climbed out of a broken bedroom window, police said.

Police said the victims did not see a weapon, but Pierce hinted that he had one.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to find the suspect.

Detectives identified Pierce as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant charging him with first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, trespassing and third-degree assault.

He was arrested at his home and is being held on a court-set bond of $500,000.
