For Pap Ndiaye, guest of France 3 this Sunday, the remarks made by the two professors of philosophy are “outrageous, conspiratorial, insulting with great violence”.

The Minister of National Education Pap Ndiaye, guest on France 3 of the program Sunday in politicswas questioned about the case of the two philosophy professors suspended for three months from their duties for their repeated and controversial speeches on social networks.

Pap Ndiaye said that the words of these two teachers came out of the “right of expression”.

There, “we are talking about outrageous, conspiratorial, insulting remarks of very great violence”, he said, reading aloud the words of one of the two professors.

“We guarantee the right of free expression, but this type of remark does not enter into the right of free expression”, he hammered.

“Legitimate concern of teachers”

Two philosophy teachers have been suspended for three months from their duties by the National Education for their repeated speeches on social networks, said the interested parties, whose remarks disrupt “the proper functioning of the public service”.

Franklin Nyamsi, who teaches in Rouen, and René Chiche, near Marseille, both associate professors, have been suspended since this spring.

René Chiche was suspended from mid-April, according to a letter from the Ministry of Education’s human resources, tweeted by the professor. Known in the teaching community for his virulent remarks on a school that he considers to be adrift, the professor is also vice-president of Action and Democracy, a very minority teachers’ union.

In a press release published on Friday, the association of professors of philosophy in public education (Appep) writes that it only has “fragmentary data” about these two cases, but “sufficient to arouse the legitimate concern of teachers”.
