The capital Stockholm celebrates the Swedish ESC winner Loreen. The 39-year-old won the country’s seventh title at the weekend. A big show is planned.
Stockholm – The Swedish singer Loreen (39) can look forward to a warm welcome in her home country after winning the Eurovision Song Contest at the weekend. In the capital Stockholm, the Swedes wanted to celebrate their ESC heroine. On a stage in the central park Kungsträdgården, the singer was scheduled to perform her winning hit “Tattoo” – to be seen live on Swedish television.
“Loreen has done an outstanding job and should be properly celebrated in Kungsträdgarden,” said City Councilor Karin Wanngård, according to a statement from the city of Stockholm.
The singer won the seventh ESC title for Sweden on Saturday – and was the first woman to win the competition for the second time after 2012 (with “Euphoria”). Next year, Sweden will host the song contest. dpa
