Kabul, Afghanistan.- The Taliban have once again escalated their bans on Afghan women and this time have stopped the sale of contraceptives in two cities in Afghanistan, according to a report in the British newspaper The Guardian.

According to said medium, the Taliban points out that the ban on this type of medicine is due to the fact that it is a “Western conspiracy to control the Muslim population.”

The report indicates that the radical group that returned to power in Afghanistan in August 2021 threatens midwives and asks pharmacies to withdraw contraceptive products.

“On two occasions they came to my shop with weapons and threatened me not to keep the contraceptive pills for sale. They are regularly checking all the pharmacies in Kabul and we have stopped selling the products,” said a shop owner in the city. to The Guardian.

Since the arrival of the Taliban, women have been subjected to abuses of their rights and have been prohibited from attending university, wearing the burqa and holding government jobs.
