Rod Stewart (78) is considered to be from the working class, bucked before his world career, among other things, as a gravedigger.

Now the man with the raspy voice has burst his collar. In a call-in show on Sky News, the singer (over 250 million records sold) complained about the British government.

The show was about the health system on the island. Stewart called his condition “heartbreaking”. It was a “bad time” for Britain. Responsible for this: Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party.

“The government should resign now”

“Personally, I’ve been a Tory for a long time, but I think this government should step down now and let the Labor Party try it,” he said.

In his criticism, Rod Stewart mainly referred to two points: the situation of employees in the health system and too few early detection scans in patients with suspected cancer.

The “Sailing” singer had to fight cancer himself. Stewart reported that he recently visited a private clinic that was “empty.” “This is ridiculous,” because then again, “people die because they don’t get scans.” The rock star offered to cover the cost of up to 20 such screenings.

The British health system is chronically weak and currently in a catastrophic state. The waiting times for doctor’s appointments are at record levels, in emergency rooms patients sometimes have to wait more than twelve hours before they are treated. At the same time, nurses and the like regularly go on strike for more money and better working conditions.

A solution to the problems in the British two-party system is currently not in sight.

“In all my years in this country, I have never seen it so bad. Change the damn government,” raged Rod Stewart, who apparently knows his privileges: he is a private patient because he has “a few shillings”. For the population, he called for the health system to be rebuilt “at billions and billions” of pounds.
