Monterrey, NL. Taylor-Standard Register inaugurated this Wednesday its new production plant in the municipality of Apodaca, Nuevo León, in which it will generate 300 new jobs, with an investment of 22 million dollars.

The US company is a provider of digital printing and labeling services for its global customers.

For example, it manufactures durable and regulatory labels, which are security labels, with anti-counterfeiting features and designed to comply with the regulations of different certifying agencies.

Emmanuel Loo, undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economysaid that manufacturing continues to be an important arm of the economy in Nuevo León, since it represents 30% of the investments that have arrived since the beginning of this government.

“This opening confirms that our entity continues to be attractive for foreign investment projects, due to its solid competitive advantages,” said the state official.

For his part, Antonio Ruiz, manager of Country of Taylor—Standard Registercommented: “Since the start of the company in Mexico, first as Standard Register in 2006 and the subsequent acquisition by Taylor in 2015, this is the most important investment in terms of infrastructure and equipment, we take it as a deep commitment to future challenges” said Antonio Ruiz, Country Manager of Taylor – Standard Register.

The company has a presence in Baja California and Chihuahua. Globally, it has offices in seven other countries.

The Center for Economic Research of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon presented a Study on the Socioeconomic Impact of National and International Investment in Nuevo León, CIE UANL, where it mentions that from 1999 to 2021, the entity ranked second in the country as recipient of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), 50.9% comes from the United States and of the total FDI, 61.9% is concentrated in the manufacturing sector.

new leon is distinguished by the importance of manufacturing industry. On average, in the 2003-2021 period, it contributed one out of every four pesos to the state Gross Value Added (VAB).

The FDI registered in Nuevo León represents 12.4% of the total at the national level, which is why it is positioned behind Mexico City, as the entity that attracted the most foreign capital last year.
