The National Communications Entity (Enacom) authorized service provider companies to apply magnifications up to 9.80% in February and up to 7.80% for April in telephone, Internet and television services.

Through resolution 2393/2022 published in the Official bulletinEnacom established that the licensees may apply as of February 1 of next year an increase in the value of the retail prices of any of their plans in the postpaid and mixed modalities of up to 9.80%, and a new increase to from April 1 up to 7.80%.

For the increases were taken into account “the economic context” and the “difficulties that are experienced by all the actors involved, providers and user public”, as indicated in the recitals of the resolution.

The update is based on “higher costs and the impact of fluctuations in the main economic variables in the operations of the licensees”, such as, for example, the costs of personnel, connectivity and programming; and infrastructure investments in foreign currency.

Who can apply the increase

Modifications that companies make to their plans, prices and commercial conditions from this authorization to increase prices, they must be communicated to Enacom at the time of their application.

The application of increases will only be allowed to providers that have complied, up to now, with the regulations on retail prices provided above.

For the prepaid modality, maximum values ​​for recharging 50 megabits (MB) of mobile data per day of $43.40 (previously $39.50) were established as of February 1st; second voice $0.66 ($0.60) and text messages (SMS) $8.70 ($7.90); in all cases with taxes included.

From April 1st the recharge of 50 MB may be charged $46.80; the second of voice $0.72 and SMS $9.40.
