The Serb missed the last edition of the American Grand Slam, in the fall of 2022.

Novak Djokovic will be able to return to the United States. The White House announced, Monday, May 1, the easing of restrictions related to the fight against Covid-19, and in particular the end of the vaccination obligation for foreign travelers, from May 11 next.

Unvaccinated, the Serb had missed all the tournaments played on American soil in 2022, including the US Open, which he won three times. He also had to give up the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells and Miami at the start of the season. This decision by the White House ensures that Novak Djokovic can take part in the American summer hard court tour, and in the last Major of the year, from August 28 to September 10.

The world number 1 remains on an elimination in the round of 16 against Lorenzo Musetti in Monte-Carlo, for his first Masters 1000 of the season. Injured in the elbow, he forfeited the Madrid tournament.
