The American brand is again lowering the prices of the Model 3 and Model Y this Friday. In France, the ecological bonus makes it possible to afford a Tesla from 36,990 euros.

Previous price cuts at Tesla have boosted deliveries and the US electric car maker has decided to do the trick again with another round of price cuts.

Tesla’s Model 3 goes from 44,990 euros to 41,990 euros this Friday, to make it “more affordable in France”, announced the group in a press release on Friday.

In France, including the ecological bonus, the Model 3 even becomes available “from 36,990 euros”, said Tesla. With this new evolution of prices, “our range is now more affordable in Europe”, welcomes the American brand, a sentence that sounds like a real snub to European manufacturers.

Facing the Renault Megane

With this new price, the Californian group is clearly positioning itself against European generalist brands. The Mégane E-Tech from the flagship of the French automotive industry Renault now sees the price of its electric model caught up by the American. In the catalog of the French manufacturer, the Mégane E-Tech is displayed from 42,000 euros. Or 10 euros more than the Model 3.

On the Volkswagen side, Tesla even becomes cheaper than the model ID.3 from the German manufacturer sold from 42,990 euros and which was for a time the most purchased electric car in Europe.

The Model Y under the bar of 40,000 euros

The Model Y, which Elon Musk already sees as the new car which will establish itself as the best-selling in the world, all engines combined, sees its price fall to 39,990 euros, ecological bonus included in France.

In March 2023, it was precisely Tesla’s Model Y that sold the most in France in the category of 100% electric vehicles, in particular because the previous price drop for this model made it eligible for the ecological bonus. .

Tesla delivered a total of 422,875 vehicles in the first three months of the year, a record in company history. Elon Musk said in January that Tesla’s 2023 deliveries could even reach 2 million vehicles, up from 1.3 million in 2022.
