The actor, who plays Xavier in “Wednesday”, is accused by several Internet users on social networks, of sexual assault and rape. A petition calls for his removal from the Netflix series.

For several days, actor Percy Hynes White, who plays the character of Xavier in the Netflix series Wednesday is the subject of accusations of sexual assault and rape on social networks.

It all started with a tweet, published on January 19 by a user. In it, the young woman explains that she knew the actor in high school and in high school in Toronto when he was between 17 and 20 years old and affirms that he organized at that time, with friends, evenings where he invited young women – minors according to her – in order to drink them and take advantage of them.

Following this speech, other young women also broke their silence on Twitter and in turn denounced Percy Hynes’ behavior towards them through the hashtag #CancelPercy.

Testimonies for the most part supported by extracts from conversations by SMS or photos of the actor, naked, that he would have sent to his interlocutors.

Petition signed by more than 6,000 people

Since these revelations, neither Percy Hynes nor Netflix have yet reacted. For their part, many Internet users and fans of the series Wednesday called for sanctions from the platform for the 21-year-old actor to be replaced in the second season of the program.

A petition has even been launched by a fan account of Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday in the series, in order to demand the withdrawal of Percy Hynes. To date, it has more than 6,000 signatures.
