The famous Swedish musician and songwriter Pugh Rogefeldt has passed away after a long illness, his relatives confirm to Dagens Nyheter today. He lived to be 76 years old.

In 2019, he had a last concert at Cirkus in Stockholm after it turned out that he had developed the disease CBD, Corticobasal degeneration, which is an incurable and unusual nerve disease that affects memory, mobility, balance, speech and also the ability to swallow.

During his long music career, Pugh has released over 20 albums, managed to win a Grammy and perform in Melodifestivalen. He was also part of forming the band Grymlings with Mikael Rickfors, who released two successful records with, among other things, the hit song “Mitt bästä för dig” and had a full 23 weeks on the Swedish Top.

Pugh has also been inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame and also awarded the Cornelis Vreeswijk prize. We remember him with songs like Små Lätta Moln, Dinga Linga Lena and Här Kommer Natten. Our thoughts go out to the Pugh family.
