Caracas, Aug 14 (EFE).- Venezuela and Argentina installed this Monday the Association of Argentine Producers, made up of 70 members specialized in different areas, who will work in Venezuelan territory to “solidify” the friendship between both nations, reported this Monday the Buenos Aires ambassador in Caracas, Oscar Laborde.
“Today was the presentation of the Association of Argentine Producers in Venezuela. 70 Argentines who live and produce have decided to settle in Venezuela to live but also to produce,” Laborde said during statements to the state channel VTV.
He stressed that this group, among which there are agricultural, oil and service producers such as telecommunications, associated “to support each other” and to, “together, talk and coordinate with the local authorities.”
He assured that the members of the association will negotiate with both the private sector and the State, and that they have plans to expand to all regions to support where they are called.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture of Venezuela, Wilmar Castro, highlighted the “extraordinary importance” of the installation of this association for bilateral relations in the region.
He stated, also on VTV, that producers from both countries are “merging” with the aim of “showing different ways of interacting as citizens, as countries, as nations, as governments.”
Last July, the Vice Minister for Latin America of Venezuela, Rander Peña, met with Ambassador Laborde to evaluate the joint work agenda.
The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry then indicated that both officials discussed issues of common interest, within the framework of the relaunch of bilateral relations and cooperation.
The Foreign Ministry then recalled that bilateral diplomatic relations, “fractured during the administration of Mauricio Macri (2015-2019)” in Argentina, were restored “with the victory of President Alberto Fernández in 2019.” EFE
