The Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishidawas evacuated in an emergency after the launch of what apparently could be a smoke bomb when he was preparing to give an electoral speech in the middle of the street in the city of wakayamaas reported by the television network nhk.

In a video captured by the Japanese television channel, you can see how those attending the event flee the area after the explosion, while security agents arrest the alleged perpetrator.

The prime minister would have moved in an armored car to a police station of the city, without suffering damage, while the detainee was also transferred to police stations. There were no reports of injuries, according to the aforementioned chain.

The explosion of this device, which has not yet been identified, occurred around 11:25 a.m. local time, when Kishida was preparing to give a speech in the framework of an act of his political party, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD), which also had another event organized later in the city, although it has already been cancelled.

This incident occurs while Japan is hosting ministerial acts of the G7 in northern Sapporo and in the Nagano city of Karuizawa, and ahead of the May leaders’ summit in Hiroshima.
