Bruce Wayne still as important in The Batman 2
Matt Reeves and screenwriter Mattson Tomlin have finally begun writing The Batman 2. Excellent news which unfortunately hides bad news, because as previously advanced by Variety, the release will not take place before 2025. And this is the most optimistic estimate which does not take into account the vagaries of filming.
But the duo is thoroughly to offer a sequel to the height in which Robert Pattinson will have its place, especially in Bruce Wayne, and which will not be erased to the detriment of the antagonists.
Robert Pattinson is so special in this role. My goal has always been to do these stories from a point of view that allows the character to consistently be the emotional heart of the story. Because often what happens after the first episode is that the gallery of villains supplants Batman and relegate it to the background, whether in terms of character or emotion.

If the villains will not be the stars of The Batman 2, some of them will be able to express themselves much more in the future. The director will write various films on iconic enemies of Gotham’s vigilante. Projects which, like the Penguin series, will have the mission of enriching Matt Reeves’ BatVerse.

James Gunn and Peter Safran are the new builders of the DCU, and like Warner Bros, they fully trust Matt Reeves to set up his BatVerse.
They have been great. In fact, we’re supposed to see each other in the next few weeks because they want to talk to me about their overall plan (note: for the DCU revamp), and then they want to hear my plans about the BatVerse. We’re going to get together just to discuss all this, and I can’t wait to see what they’re going to do. The BatVerse, as James and Peter said, is kind of a standalone thing that they let us do.
