This version, which will be released exclusively on HBO Max and therefore on Prime Video at home, will take place only a week after The Batman. In such a short time, the city of Gotham failed to recover from a mighty attack and descended into chaos. The scenario will therefore revolve around Oswald Cobblepot, his rise and his transformation into Penguin, one of Batou’s sworn enemies.
In this first trailer, we feel a big mafia climate with a Colin Farrell still inhabited, unrecognizable, ready to seize any opportunity to climb the ladder and become a real disreputable leader. The actor will rub shoulders with Carmen Ejogo (Your Honor, Alien Covenant…), David H. Holmes (Mindhunter, High Fidelity) as well as François Chau (ChuckX-Files…).
The series The Penguin will have eight episodes and could arrive in 2024. But on this, nothing has yet been decided on the side of Matt Reeves, HBO Max or Warner. The director has a lot to do with multiple projects in the Batman universe, such as the sequel to the feature film with Robert Pattinson.
