After months of waiting, the fans of MasterChef Celebritythe most important cooking reality show in Mexico, were able to enjoy a new season, where 20 celebrities began their search to be crowned as the best chef.
On this occasion, the person in charge of leading the program is the actress and writer Claudia Lizaldiwho will be accompanied by the chefs Zahie Tellez, Alfonso Cadena and Adrian Herrera.
From the first chapter, the community of fans of “The most famous kitchen in Mexico” followed every detail of this new season and, as usual, used social networks to support their favorite, as well as to share memes about the most memorable.
One of the aspects most commented on by viewers was the return of the chef herrera to the panel of judges, as he has established himself as one of the most iconic figures of the contest.
Among the highlights of the first broadcast was the participation of the driver Alejandro Lukini in the elimination challenge, since his performance was not at the level expected by the panel of critics and he had to leave the reality show.
For the last phase of the episode, the celebrities received a master class from chef Rómulo Mendoza, who showed them a way to reinterpret the recipe for the chiles en nogada —one of the most representative dishes of Mexican gastronomy— to prepare a dessert using the same ingredients. Thus, the challenge for the contestants was to propose a sweet dish from the elements of the typical dish from Puebla.
For his part, Lukini chose to prepare hamburger meat stuffed with fruit, which he presented on a layer of bechamel sauce. However, despite the fact that he was confident when presenting her dish, chef Zahie Téllez did not hesitate to express her displeasure when trying it. When the actor explained the process of his recipe, critics identified a serious mistake, because he added raw egg to the sauce.
Despite the driver’s effort and competitiveness, the incorporation of said ingredient into the béchamel sauce was an unforgivable mistake for the critics’ table and cost him his permanence in the contest.
Chef Cadena reproached him that “good intentions in life are not enough” and assured that his dish He had “nothing to save himself”. When the time came to leave the forum, Lukini was extremely upset and, far from the emotional farewells that are customary in this show, he limited himself to leaving his apron at one of the kitchen stations and walking towards the exit to some applause.
When speaking in front of the cameras, the first eliminated from MasterChef Celebrity Mexico regretted that a “Damn egg” was what caused his expulsion. This situation triggered multiple reactions among the followers of the program and there were even those who suggested that the news would have been pleasant for Claudia Lizaldi, host of this season, since Lukini is her ex-husband.
