Nintendo’s old portable workhorse may not be the hottest kid on the block anymore, but that’s not stopping new games from being released on the console. In this case, however, it is more specifically about an old unreleased game that was rescued from the digital darkness by the group Forest of Illusion. A bunch of individuals who specialize in preserving old software for Nintendo’s many platforms.

In a statement on Twitter, the group recently announced their latest find, the Bible. And no, it’s not an actual game, but an actual Bible in readable format intended for the Game Boy Advance that was close to being released by 505 Games a long time ago.

“We’ve preserved a cancelled version of The Holy Bible for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Rainbow Missions and originally set to be published by Crave Entertainment! It came very close to a release, with even boxart being created. Unfortunately it never ended up releasing.”

The cover and description of the Bible for the Game Boy Advance can still be found online at 505 Games’ old website. Which can be dug up through (among other things) Wayback Machine. A fun historical curiosity, to say the least, and now you can download the entire ROM movie from them for free like.

Are you dying to read the Bible on your old GBA?

“Time for you to convert boy!”
