The Brazilian Voices group presents Jazz Through Cultures

MIAMI.- He group Brazilian Voices vocal present on April 27 Jazz Across Cultures, a show that highlights the importance of this musical genre as an international language that unites diverse cultures, and shows the multiple influences of jazz and pop in more than half a century.

Mainly, Jazz a Across Cultures addresses the importance of samba, bossa nova and American jazz. “Our goal is to foster mutual understanding, respect and the exchange of experiences,” Brazilian Voices project director Loren Oliveira said in a statement.

Special guests

The repertoire will have songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gershwin, Milton Nascimento and Cole Porter, and the show will feature the South Florida Girls’ Choir as special guests.

“The heavenly and emotionally moving singing of the Girls Choir promises to elevate the performance to new heights. With this collaboration, we aim to bring out the best in our worlds and be part of an important community of talented women in Broward County,” she added.

For her part, Beatriz Malnic, musical director of Brazilian Voices, stated that the collaboration is an important alliance for the community. “We are delighted to collaborate with the South Florida Girls Choir. The girls’ pure voices, under the direction of the energetic Brazilian-American Silvia Aycock, will infuse our performance with a new element and vitality.”

Musical group

Brazilian Voices has 22 years of artistic experience and has established itself as an outstanding non-profit musical group in South Florida.

Through their compositions, they have brought the rhythm of Bossa Nova to international stages, local theaters and educational, health and nursing home institutions.

In 2022, he was recognized by Broward County with the 2022 Nonprofit Organization of the Year – The Arts award for his videos and virtual performances during the pandemic, a space in which he shared with Brazilian composer Guilherme Arantes at Carnegie Hall.

The Brazilian Voices performance will take place at the Sunrise Civic Center Theater, located in Sunrise (10610 West Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise FL 33351) on April 27 at 7 pm for the general public.

The price of tickets is 20 dollars.
