The Bridgerton Chronicle season 3: Colin and Penelope reveal themselves in a first photo

After a season 1 centered on Simon and Daphne, played by Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor, then season 2 on Anthony and Kate (Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley), The Bridgerton Chronicle, adapted from the novels by Julia Quinn, is set to tell the story of Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) in season 3. Filming for the Netflix romantic series is underway in England, and would even have been suspended because of a plot deemed too dark if we believe the rumors. So far, almost no official information has filtered on the rest of the series, apart from casting announcements. A silence that is beginning to worry fans of the series, while season 2 will celebrate its first anniversary on March 25. Subscribers are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the series produced by Shonda Rhimes and, while some have gotten ahead by reading the novels, they hope to have a first glimpse of the third season of Netflix’s event series soon. And precisely, this week, the first images have arrived on the web. Except there’s a twist.

A British channel unveils behind the scenes of season 3 of Bridgerton

Monday, January 9, 2023, the broadcast This Morning aired on the ITV channel in the UK surprised fans of The Bridgerton Chronicle : in a segment teasing an upcoming report, host Alison Hammond revealed that she was invited behind the scenes of the filming of season 3 of the series. At stake ? Images in costumes of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), but above all of Colin and Penelope, the two heroes of these new episodes. The video was widely shared on social networks, via the series’ fan accounts:

Except that, problem, the publication of these images was obviously not really planned. As one Internet user pointed out, the day after this extract was broadcast (the entire report should be broadcast in the course of 2023), the sequence mysteriously disappeared from the channel’s replay. A deletion which suggests that the broadcast did not really please the Netflix streaming platform, which has not reacted for the moment.

What will season 3 be about The Bridgerton Chronicle ?

After the marriage of Kate and Anthony, the action of season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicle will resume a year later, during a new social season. After the particularly odious sentence pronounced by Colin during the Featherington ball in the last episode of season 2, Penelope will be decided to marry, and to forget the young Bridgerton definitively. The latter will help her to find a future husband, and realize that he may not only feel friendship for her. In addition to the returns of many actors seen in previous seasons (including Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley and Phoebe Dynevor), season 3 of the series will be able to count on new faces. Hannah Dodd will join the cast to replace Ruby Stokes in the role of Francesca, while Daniel Francis, Sam Philipps and James Phoon have joined the series in roles still kept secret. The sequel to the series should arrive in 2023 on Netflix.
