The influencer Santiago Maratea revealed on his social networks that the collection to save Independiente from its debts exceeded $700 million, a figure that represents 50% of the amount owed by the Avellaneda institution with América de México.

“I appear, I know they missed me. I was missing on Sunday because I was with a journalist’s wife. Ah, it started spicy. A lie, it wasn’t for that,” he jokingly expressed in his first story on Instagram.

In this sense, he continued: “Can we be serious? We are grown people. As I was saying, we exceeded 700 million pesos, friends. Let them tell it as they please and like it. This is a fact.”

“With the fans of Independiente we have already collected more than 700 million pesos. This represents 53% of the total debt, we exceed half. When we reach 1,000 million it will be crazy,” he added, referring to the debt with America of Mexico, which is the priority to lift the inhibition in the face of the transfer market.

In addition, regarding the possibility of opening an account abroad for those Independiente fans who live outside the country, he clarified: “Believe me, I’m already behind that every day, trying to open different accounts abroad to find out which one is the least risky and the most agile to get the money out of there. I still don’t have concrete news”.

The ultimate goal is to raise US$20 million to settle the total debt, but to lift the ban, “Red” has to pay US$5.7 million. If you don’t, you won’t be able to recruit players in the next transfer market.
