Nieves Herrero is very angry with Carmen Cervera. The journalist had more than three years working on an authorized biography of Baroness Thyssen that he has not finally been able to make a reality.
“This literary adventure began at the end of 2019, when Carmen Thyssen He called me on the phone and asked me to write a book about his life. My only condition was to narrate things as they had been, they are their lights and their shadows”, explains Herrero.
And this seems to have been the point of friction, that she was not free to recount the life of Tita Cervera as the journalist would have liked. “Little by little I was introduced to her world and, for three years, I held meetings and long conversations at her house in La Moraleja,” she recounts. “The story of her life was unfolding before my eyes. until one day Tita commented in a television interview that she herself was going to be the author of her biography. It canceled, then, our joint work. We all found out at the same time: the viewers, the publisher and me, ”he adds.
The reasons for the breakup
According to Blacksmith, Tita wanted to “remember”. “I think that lawyers have had and still have a very preferential place in his life”adds about this regular character in gossip magazines.
For this reason, what was to be an authorized biography has had to be converted into a biographical novel with real events and characters. “A story with a protagonist whom I have come to admire, but whom I have never really understood. Undoubtedly, the most fascinating character of the last decades”, says Herrero.
