Humberto Zurita and Stephanie Salas, in addition to being in love, joined their talents and are happy to work together on the play ‘Dear Daddy’, which will go on stage today at the Teatro de los Héroes, starting a new season with Salas in the cast , as they made it known in an interview for El Diario, who were happy to be in northern land.
“I feel very happy to be here. I love this state, and I am delighted to share this incredible work with all the people of Chihuahua and Ciudad Juárez. There will be two performances, because the people here are very devoted and they like the theater. And that is very good”, expressed Stephanie Salas with a big smile.
The staging narrates in a rather funny way how a divorced man poses as his wife, all because his daughter’s future in-laws are old-fashioned and demand that she have parents united in holy matrimony.
“Gabriel Varela and Humberto Zurita invited me to participate in the play. Previously, the character of ‘Tatis’ was played by Alyn Mujica, but for work reasons she had to leave the project. They offered me the opportunity to interpret this role and I think it will be a great moment to make this foray into this work that is hilarious and that the public will enjoy, ”she indicated.
Salas mentioned that her character is very funny, a family mother who is married to Luis Gatica’s character who wants to meet the parents of her son’s girlfriend, and when the time comes, endless entanglements are unleashed, very funny and full of reflection.
“I identify with the character and I know that many people have a bit of Tatis, that thing that you want to know the relationship with your children, this thing of being a little apprehensive and one is after the children and wanting to control everything, I’m not saying that okay, on the contrary, but in the end yes, because one will always be there giving opinions and saying, then it makes me laugh because if it is a real reflection of a society that one identifies with that, and you laugh at that, that is how beautiful comedy offers, the sarcasm that a play offers you where you are seeing a whole reality, ”he said.
Combine music with work
“I don’t give up on music, because today it gives you that possibility in the world of music, of digital platforms, of being your own producer, I’m happy because I release singles and people can find from my nineties repertoires, even everything new that I’ve been doing since the age of two thousand, and I’ve already started with EPs, remixes of Ave María, among others, and I’m going to release a new single, a cover of Miguel Bosé that I know people will love. to like a lot”
“Also, I plan to continue in the kitchen area, since I won the second place in Master Chef Celebrity and I really enjoyed it. In the near future, I would also like to have a chef interview show, something similar to ‘La ruta del sabor’, I love interviewing Chefs”, he pointed out.
For his part, Humberto Zurita revealed that he plays a divorced father and must take care of a young woman, whose in-laws disapprove of the divorce, so in the absence of his wife he must dress as his daughter’s mother.
“We are very happy with the success of the work, the first stage was very successful and the most important thing is that all the people enjoy a lot, that makes us very happy,” he said.
About his character Luis and Luisa
“Luis is a father who, out of love for his daughter, is capable of anything. And that’s a great reflection on the story. Since my character is a divorced man, the guy decides to dress as a woman and confront the parents of his daughter’s boyfriend. And there will begin endless entanglements, it is a very funny comedy, also I am not a man who usually dresses as a woman, so by not doing so I will make many mistakes. She is a stunning woman, and when she meets the parents of her daughter’s boyfriend, another thought-provoking theme emerges in the play. Many times, society has double standards and they come to meet the parents, but they would not be willing for their daughter to get involved with the daughter of someone who is divorced. It turns out that they both fall in love with my characters, she with Luis and he with Luisita, the truth is a very funny comedy, ”she explained.
The process of characterizing Luisita was complicated
“Javier de la Rosa was in charge of characterizing me, he is a great artist and it took us about a week to design the look, but the most complicated thing was the body he made me, and it presses me as if I were wearing a corset and then heels, They are things that one is not used to, but dealing with that on stage makes my character funnier,” he said.
