The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, affirmed this Thursday that the ruling of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, which ordered the national State to increase the co-participating remittance in favor of the City of Buenos Aires, is a form of “financing” the campaign of the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, “at the expense of the needs of the provinces” and considered that some sectors of the Judiciary “work in favor of parties.”

“Between the World Cup festivities and Christmas, between roosters and midnight, after two years, the Court resolved a precautionary measure filed by the City (of Buenos Aires) and it does so with a ruling that is the opposite of a solution. It is a arbitrary, electoral and anti-federal measure,” De Pedro said in a dialogue with Radio Con Vos, later replicated by Télam.

In the context of the litigation between the Nation and the City for the distribution of co-participating funds, the minister recalled that the hearings in Court “were private” and with the ruling “they want to hide the issue” because “they are cheating”. , when estimating that with this judicial resolution “the campaign” of Rodríguez Larreta is financed “at the expense of the basic needs of the provinces.”

Great North Development

“From the Minister we have a survey of the consensual works between the ten governors that make up the Norte Grande, a space made up of pro-government and opposition leaders,” said the national official.

In this sense, De Pedro highlighted that together with this group of governors he made several international trips and, on a visit to the United States, a plan of the works needed to improve production and development in the region was presented to the World Bank. .

“These are investments that add up to 30,000 million dollars over 15 years, that is, 2,000 million dollars per year. This ruling gives the City a billion more dollars. The Court and some sectors of the Judiciary have been working in favor of each other,” he remarked.

And in that sense, he added: “It is an injustice that the city that has the highest quality of life in terms of infrastructure services benefits from a ruling that is political, arbitrary and electoral.”

In this regard, he explained that the National Constitution establishes that “the resources of the national State by co-participation must tend to resolve the imbalance that exists in Argentina with a spirit of solidarity” between the different jurisdictions that make up the country.

“We knew that the Court could rule in favor of the City because the Buenos Aires media, such as La Nación and Clarín, anticipated it, and it was seen that there was a lobby on the part of the Buenos Aires head of government,” said the official.

Governors actions

Regarding the actions of the governors, De Pedro assured that the leaders “come with the same position of presenting themselves as ‘amicus curiae’ before the Court in this case, but the highest court never allowed the provinces to establish their position and be part of the discussion.”

During the management of former President Mauricio Macri, according to the minister, “almost all national resources were centralized in the city of Buenos Aires, as was the case of the National Lottery that is used as funds for the disabled, the City kept it” .

In this sense, he assured that “the theft of resources from Argentines to benefit the City was phenomenal.”

“For this reason, the first objective of the Frente de Todos (FdT) was met because a policy of looting the resources of the Argentines was stopped,” he closed.
