It was a Norwegian victory in the downhill week. Halvor Egner Granerud won the prestigious competition for the first time in his career.

Halvor Egner Granerud has dominated the downhill week this time and after four races he is the new king in Germany and Austria.

Before the final race in Bischofshofen, he led by 23.3 points over Dawid Kubacki and only a total breakdown could prevent Granerud from winning the entire downhill week.

And the Norwegian had his nerves under control. He jumped 139.5 meters in the first round and practically secured the overall victory.

Granerud led after the first round and after 143.5 meters in the second jump the victory party could begin. The Norwegian won the competition and took his third victory in this edition of the downhill week.

– I managed to stay a little calmer in the second jump. Everything felt perfect and I started to smile because I knew what was coming. This is fantastic, says Granerud after the victory.

– This means everything because so many years have passed since the last victory. After many attempts, we are finally here.
