VVF President Barbara Lässer was a guest on “Vorarlberg LIVE” on Friday.

Barbara Lässer is the first woman to head the Vorarlberg Association for Carnival Guilds and Carnival Guilds (VVF). At the 40th meeting for the election of the board in 2021, Lässer was allowed to take up the office of VVF President. Not much will change, however, because support for the clubs and community is also the top priority for the new president.

motivate people

In the last three years, the colorful carnival hustle and bustle had to be canceled due to the corona. “Last year we were glad that the spark guilds were allowed to make their sparks. They were the first to be able to do something again after the lockdown,” says Lässer, reflecting on her first year as President of the VVF. “It has generally become difficult to motivate people to volunteer. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the brass band, football club or other clubs.”

Carnival season 2023

The first carnival event will take place in Hohenems on Saturday.

In an interview with Vorarlberg LIVE, Barbara Lässer describes what can be expected in this year’s carnival season: “As far as I know, all the moves are taking place as they used to be. From Hörbranz to Braz, everything is planned and on track. The clubs are still there after two or three years stand still very well organized and can do it from the FF.” For Lässer himself there are many different highlights in the fifth time of the year. “We have a very diverse carnival here in Vorarlberg. The customs are lived and passed on to the children.”

The broadcast “Vorarlberg LIVE” is a cooperation between VOL.AT, VN.at, Ländle TV and VOL.AT TV and is broadcast from Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. There’s more here.
