The brutal murder in La Plata of a 72-year-old retiree continues to shock the city and generate repercussions, after her own grandson was arrested as the main suspect. Now one of the key clues that determined the orientation of the investigators to target the young man was known: the footprint of a shoe.

As already reported 0221.com.ar, Maria Irma Mendoza she was beaten to death this Friday morning, and what at first appeared to be a robbery ended with a drama of family violence. the researchers they found inconsistencies in the adolescent’s story and ended up arresting him.

But also, when the Scientific Police began to examine the place, they noticed a shoe print in one of the blood stains in the room. At that time, the minor became a suspect, since they later analyzed his shoes and observed that he also had traces of blood.

After the discovery, the detectives took testimonies from the residents of the area and none reported having heard screams or seen strange movements at the time that MM (the young man’s initials) had marked as the time of the alleged robbery in the house. In this way, the forensics indicated that Mendoza died around midnight and not at 2 in the morning, as the minor had said.

In this context, one of the hypotheses suggests that the boy would have demanded money from her and, when she refused, they argued and ended up beating her to death.

Thus, the investigators ruled out the version of the robbery and the minor was apprehended for the crime of aggravated homicide. The 16-year-old lived with the victim.

As reported, the incident occurred in a house located in the area 141 and 523 bis. There the woman was found lifeless under a mattress by her own family, after her grandson -as mentioned- ran out of the house assuring that both had been victims of a violent robbery.

In addition to running, the investigators were able to corroborate that the teenager, identified as MM, also took the trouble to send a WhatsApp message to the family group warning that “thieves had broken in to steal.”

In the message to the relatives, MM assured that her own grandmother had told her to take her cell phone after the robbery, go to the house of her uncles who lived a few blocks away and notify the rest of the family. Thus, members of the La Plata DDI arrived at the alleged robbery scene that later turned 180 degrees and ended as an alleged aggravated homicide committed by the relative himself.
