The husband of the woman found dismembered last week in the Parisian park of Buttes-Chaumont was placed this Thursday, February 23 in the morning in police custody, learned AFP from a source close to the investigation, confirming information from the “Parisian”.

The victim is a 46-year-old woman residing in Seine-Saint-Denis, whose husband had reported the disappearance on February 6.
A dismembered body
A plastic bag containing the pelvis and thighs of this woman, subsequently identified through the analysis of fingerprints, was discovered under a pile of green waste in Buttes-Chaumont by municipal parks and gardens officials on February 13 , around 2:30 p.m.
The next day, other remains, including the head, were also found during an in-depth excavation of this large park in the northeast of Paris, which is very popular with walkers.
The husband is heard in the context of a judicial investigation opened last Friday for assassination, attack on the integrity of a corpse and concealment of a corpse.
Inconsistent statements from the husband
BFM TV revealed last Friday that the husband’s statements, deemed inconsistent, had aroused the suspicions of investigators. According to the news channel, the husband notably “indicated that she had gone out the night of January 30 to 31 while the CCTV cameras of the building do not show it”.
THE “investigators noticed that he had not gone to certain places in the capital to look for his wife, as he had initially claimed”, according to BFMTV. The Paris prosecutor’s office, which refuses to confirm this information, has opened a preliminary investigation for violation of professional secrecy in connection with these statements by the television channel.
The investigations are entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN).
