The images of Daniel Sancho buying a knife before the crime

Daniel Sancho, the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho, is being held in Thailand after confessing to having murdered and dismembered Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, 44, with whom he traveled to the Asian country to spend a few days on vacation. “I am guilty, but I was the hostage”expressed the young man in his statement.

“He held me hostage. It was a glass cage, but it was a cage. It made me destroy the relationship with my girlfriend. She has forced me to do things that I would never have done,” she also said. “He was obsessed with me. He led me to believe that he wanted to do business with me. The only thing she wanted from me was her boyfriend. Every time I tried to get away from him, he threatened me,” added the young man.

Waiting to go to court this Monday, the eldest son of the popular actor from ‘Al salir de clase’ is under police surveillance “for fear of suicide”. Little by little, new information is being learned about this crime that draws everyone’s attention. In the last few hours Thai television has broadcast some images in which Daniel Sancho is seen buying a knife at a local establishment.

Some videos belonging to the security cameras that correspond to the days before the 29-year-old young man murdered Edwin Arrieta. In addition to a knife, Sancho buys other utensils that he would also have used to sadistically end the life of the Colombian. In the other images, the defendant appears handcuffed and reconstructing the events with the police.

Death penalty in Thailand

The Asian country has one of the toughest laws in the world and the penal code is very strict in terms of homicides. In its article 288 it can be read that an individual who is found guilty of a murder may be sentenced to prison for a period of between fifteen and twenty years, to life imprisonment or even the death penalty.

“As it is a crime of murder with two aggravating circumstances, highly aggravated homicide, since practically would be punishable by deathit would not be life imprisonment”, affirms the renowned lawyer Marcos García Montes.
