In the world of the Stock Market there is an old saying that states that “the markets are ahead of the game”. This statement is verified on a day-to-day basis by the way in which the market in general has been moving for some time now. Proof of this is that so far this year the S&P Merval shows a rise of the order of 50%, which translated into dollars implies an increase of 16 percent. Even if the calculation is extended to one year ahead, the progress exceeds 250 percent.

But this notable rise in prices is not limited to the shares listed on the Leader Panel, since the one that groups the companies with the lowest market capitalization also shows a similar performance.

Argentine shares: the investment that grew almost 900%

In the case of the first, the companies with the best annual performance are all representatives of the energy sector, since together they rise by 440 percent. Within this heading, the highest performances correspond to YPF, with 510%, closely followed by TGN, as it rises 502%. Transener is positioned a little below, with 424% and TGS completes this “top five”, since it gains 330% and Central Puerto, with 284 percent.

As for the Panel General, that does not always enter the radar of analysts and investors, you can find real “pearls”, which in some cases far exceed said yields.

In this sense, the three shares that rise the most in the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange in the last year correspond to that list and are Molinos Juan Semino, which shows a growth of 868%, followed by Celulosa, with 674% and Camuzzi Gas Pampeana, with over 600 percent. But these are not the only ones, because with increases that are also worth mentioning, we can find Fiplasto, with 447%, and Molinos, which earns 440 percent.

In summary, if the ten shares with the highest rise in the last year are considered, they move in a range that goes from 400% to 868%, but what is interesting is what it does to their location, is that seven of them do it in the General Panel and the rest in the Leader. In short, for the investor who is looking for opportunities in the market, he always has to analyze what is happening in it.

Invest in stocks: Lead Panel or General Panel

The Leader Panel is made up of the Argentine companies that have the highest traded volume in the market, to which are added those with the greatest liquidity and presence. That is why they are usually taken as benchmarks for their respective sectors and generally achieve sustained growth over time.

According to market regulations, the selection criteria for these shares is based on the traded volume and the number of transactions in the last six months to a certain date, under the necessary condition of a negotiation in at least 80% of the rounds considered.

In the case of those companies that do not meet the standards required to participate in this select group, particularly regarding the volume traded, they are automatically listed on the so-called General Panel.

On this point, it is interesting to note that in most cases these volumes tend to be substantially lower than those of their peers, largely due to the fact that they are not generally used to carry out “cash with liquid” operations.

But they are not less important for this, since many of them with a long history in the market appear in it.
